Iloilo City, 12 September 2025 — In a stirring display of civic partnership and shared commitment to national service, the Philippine Coast Guard District Western Visayas (CGDWV) hosted a Turnover Ceremony to formally receive a ₱500,000 donation from the 1308th Squadron of the Coast Guard Auxiliary District Southern Visayas (CGADSV). The event was held at HCGDWV Headquarters, Zone II, Bo. Obrero, Lapuz, Iloilo City.
The donation, presented by Auxiliary Captain Ramel Uy, PCGA—CEO of K5 News FM and President of the RYU Foundation Inc.—was handed over to Commodore Christopher D. Auro, PCG, Commander of CGDWV and President of the PCG Foundation. The contribution is earmarked to support the ongoing programs and advocacies of the PCG Foundation, reinforcing its mission to uplift maritime service and community engagement.
Captain Uy, known for his media leadership and philanthropic advocacy, shared a powerful message during the ceremony:

Commodore Auro responded with heartfelt appreciation, affirming that the donation will significantly bolster the Foundation’s capacity to serve and protect.

In recognition of exemplary service and enduring support, CGDWV conferred the PCGA Merit Medal and Ribbon upon three distinguished members of the Auxiliary:
