Coast Guard Health and Wellness Caravan Champions Holistic Well-being in Western Visayas

The Health and Wellness Caravan, held on July 22, 2025, at Maalab Hall in Iloilo City, marked a meaningful initiative by the Philippine Coast Guard District Western Visayas to strengthen the overall health and well-being of its personnel. Organized in coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard Foundation, the event provided Coast Guard members access to expert-led discussions, wellness products, and educational sessions focused on physical, mental, and emotional resilience. This impactful program was made possible through the collaborative efforts of ProLifeToday, Apex Health and Wellness, Total Swiss Philippines, and Rebuilt & Rise Trading, whose joint support underscored a shared commitment to the welfare of frontline maritime personnel.

A standout moment of the event was the powerful presentation by Dr. Anthony So, a highly respected rehabilitation specialist from UST Hospital, who discussed the importance of achieving a balanced lifestyle, managing stress, and prioritizing long-term health. His insights, grounded in years of medical experience, deeply resonated with the attendees and became a central highlight of the program. Commodore Christopher D. Auro PCG, District Commander and President of the PCG Foundation, stood at the forefront of the event, reinforcing his long-held advocacy of promoting a sound body and mind among uniformed personnel. His support helped bring together a distinguished lineup of contributors and speakers. Ms. Irene Valdeavilla, Director of Total Swiss Philippines, was instrumental in organizing the caravan and served as one of its major sponsors. Ms. Lebannie Gutierrez, Director of Rebuilt & Rise Trading, provided generous support by sponsoring wellness products and merchandise distributed during the event. In addition, Mr. Ely Rosales Martos Jr., President of Total Swiss Philippines, delivered an inspiring talk on the Life Water Solution and shared opportunities for livelihood programs designed to uplift the lives of Coast Guard personnel and their families. Dr. Ana Carmen M. Toledo of Total Swiss Philippines was acknowledged for her key role in shaping the caravan’s mental health component, particularly her expertise on stress management and emotional well-being.

Though unable to attend in person, VADM Robert N. Patrimonio PCG (Ret.), President of ProLifeToday, extended his full support for the initiative and its goals. The Health and Wellness Caravan ultimately reflected a collective commitment to empowering Coast Guard personnel through sustained health education and community-based support.
